Valve Application Information

The patented Vortex Hand Slide Orifice Gate offers dust tight control of material on the inlet or outlet of hoppers, bins or totes. It is used where a powered slide gate is not feasible or desirable.

  • Gravity flow or low pressure or vacuum applications
  • Handles non abrasive to moderately abrasive powders, granulars or pellets
  • Horizontal valve orientation
  • Open / closed or volume metering of material
  • Modifications available for a variety of environments

“Live loaded” seals Other hand slide gate valves offer metal-to-metal contact and do not seal dust or fine materials.  The Vortex Hand Slide Orifice Gate valve eliminates this problem by using hard polymer seal plates.  The plates are “live loaded.”  This feature allows them to continue to make seal contact with the blade, even as wear occurs.
